HSC Safety Forum Event “Patient and Public Involvement – Can You Help To Improve Patient Safety? Grosvenor House, Belfast. Wednesday 3rd October 2012

In October 2012, the HSC Safety Forum held an event that brought together over 50 patients, public, carers, patient advocates, personal and public involvement (PPI) professionals and health and social care staff. 

The aims and purpose of the event were to

  • Bring together patients, service users, carers, members of the public and others who have an interest in improving patient safety.
  • Provide a general overview of quality improvement as it pertains to patient safety .
  • Discuss current initiatives intended to improve safety and quality of care in N.ireland.
  • Gather opinion on how those attending might be involved.
  • Invite participants interested in further PPI work with the Safety Forum to submit expressions of interest.
