Newsletter of the Northern Ireland Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening Programme – Issues 14 and 15

The Northern Ireland AAA Screening Programme has been publishing a newsletter several times a year since the programme began in 2012.

The newsletter is produced specifically for GPs with a pdf and printed copies of it being sent directly to them.

It is also hoped that the breadth of information included benefits other health professionals and service users within the wider HSC who have an interest in AAA screening.

The latest versions of the newsletter are accessible via here with the Summer 2018 issue covering a particularly busy year for the programme. 

As well as our annual, and increasingly popular Service User Event, the programme shared a promotional stand with other HSC screening programmes at the Balmoral Show.

Also highlighted are updates regarding scanning equipment, results letters, staffing and programme information videos.

Issue 14 of the newsletter highlights the opportunities for promoting the programme at flu clinics and by joint-working with third sector organisations.

The importance of our Patient Representative role is similarly featured along with a summary of the 2017 Service User Event.
