“The first 1,000 days of a baby’s life are crucial to later outcomes”: Experts highlight need to support early development as new Infant Mental Health Framework launched
Representatives from across the statutory, voluntary and community sectors came together today (5 March) to launch Northern Ireland’s refreshed Infant Mental Health Framework and Action Plan.
This leaflet discusses the help available to women who experience a mental health problem in the perinatal period, the name given to the period during pregnancy and up to one year after birth.
This Infant Mental Health Framework represents a commitment by the Public Health Agency, Health and Social Care Board and Trusts, as well as academic, research, voluntary and community organisations across Northern Ireland, to improve interventions from the ante-natal period through to children aged three years old.
