Avian influenza A(H5N1) | India | During May 2025, a fatal human case of avian influenza A(H5N1) was reported in India. The case was reported to have originated from Khulna division, Bangladesh. No details about this case are available other than genetic sequence data. The clade type was reported to be clade 2.3.2.1a for the H5 gene. | View report |
Avian influenza A(H5N1) | Bangladesh | On 31 May 2025, a human case of avian influenza A(H5N1) was reported in a child in Chittagong division (previously unrecorded). The case had symptoms of diarhea, fever and mild respiratory symptoms, abd was admitted to hospital. Respiratory samples were taken on admission. The case had reported exposure to backyard poultry.
