In October 2016, a 10-year approach to transforming health and social care was launched by the Department of Health, in a document entitled Health and wellbeing 2026: Delivering Together. This ambitious plan, the Health and Social Care Transformation Programme, was the response to a report produced by an expert panel, led by Professor Rafael Bengoa. The panel had been tasked with considering the best configuration of health and social care services in Northern Ireland.

Focus on rural mental health support at Balmoral Show

Living in the countryside brings many benefits but the particular challenges faced by rural communities can often have an impact on their emotional health and wellbeing, whether it’s as the result of rural isolation or the stresses of farming life. In order to raise awareness of the support that is available, the Lifeline service will have a presence at this year’s Balmoral Show.

This is the Public Health Agency’s Annual Business Plan for 2018/19 which sets out the actions for the coming year. Developed with inputs from across the organisation, it was approved by PHA board in April 2018. Progress against the actions will be monitored and reported to PHA Board on a twice yearly basis.
