MeaslesUSAFrom 1 January to 18 April 2025, a total of 2318 measles cases, including three deaths, were confirmed in the WHO Region of the Americas, an 11-fold increase compared to the 205 cases of measles reported in the same period in 2024. The cases have been reported from six countries: Argentina (n= 21 cases), Belize (n= 2 cases), Brazil (n= 5 cases), Canada (n=1069 cases), Mexico (n= 421 cases including one death), and the United States of America (n=800 cases, including two deaths).View report

Mortality - undiagnosedEcuadorOn 1 May 2025, media reported 8 deaths in children between February and April 2025 from an undiagnosed illness in Taisha, Morona Santiago, Ecuador. The cases presented with symptoms including fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea, gastrointestinal issues, dehydration, and pneumonia. 11 patients are currently being treated. Dengue, malaria and gastointestinal illness are being investigated as the cause.View report
Morbidity - undiagnosedMalaysiaOn 28 April 2025, media reported the undiagnosed illness in Yan, Keadah, Malaysia to be influenza-like. 28 cases amongst students have been reported, of which 6 tested positive for influenza A. Investigation and control measures are underway, the article reports that according to health officials the situation is under control.View report
Zika VirusBurkina FasoOn 17 April, 2025, the Burkina Faso Ministry of Health reported one confirmed case of Zika virus in Ziniare town, Central Plateau region. This is the first case reported in Burkina Faso.View report
