This edition of Transmit leads with updated guidance in the management of meningococcal disease, which tends to be more common during the winter months. Information is provided on pre-admission management of suspected cases and chemoprophylaxis for close contacts of cases.

Good for Regeneration, Good for Health, Good for Belfast

Belfast Healthy Cities and Belfast City Council have worked jointly with Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Public Health Agency and the five Belfast Area Partnerships on the Good for Regeneration, Good for Health, Good for Belfast indicator set, which has been developed to help ensure regeneration projects generate benefits for all population groups and all local communities.

HIV and STI surveillance in Northern Ireland 2011: An analysis of data for the calendar year 2010

This annual analysis of data provides an overview of HIV and STI epidemiology in Northern Ireland for the calendar year 2010. Information from a variety of sources is collated and analysed in detail, while any evident trends over time are highlighted with graphs and tables.
