New look PHA website

Welcome to the new look PHA website that has undergone a comprehensive face lift and redevelopment over the last few months. This phase of development has seen substantial input from each work area within the PHA that will allow visitors to gain a better appreciation of the breadth and scope of the work undertaken by the Agency. We are also further developing and introducing new and emerging technologies and media so as all of our audiences, public and professional, can keep up to date with work and developments within the PHA.

S. aureus bacteraemia surveillance quarterly report: January-March 2011

This quarterly report provides epidemiological data on S. aureus in Northern Ireland, including overall infection figures as well as those specific to MRSA and MSSA. The report highlights key points, rates, trends and statistical process control charts. The report also provides information on surveillance methods and data for each hospital and Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland.

C. difficile surveillance quarterly report: January-March 2011

This quarterly report provides epidemiological data on C. difficile in Northern Ireland, and includes key points, a comprehensive overview of all C. diff infections, rates, trends, age-specific information and statistical process control charts. The report also provides information on surveillance methods and data for each hospital and Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland.

Transplant Games

The Westfield Health British Transplant Games will be held in Belfast on 4–7 August. Athletes will compete in 16 sports at venues such as the Mary Peter's Track, Ormeau Park and Queen’s University Belfast’s Physical Education Centre, to name but a few.

Transplant Awareness Week

The Public Health Agency is supporting this year’s National Transplant Awareness Week, which runs from 4-10 July 2011 with the theme ‘What are you waiting for?’
This Transplant Awareness Week aims to increase the understanding of organ donation and the issues that surround it by focusing on how long people are currently waiting to receive a transplant.
