The health of people in Northern Ireland is improving. However, the improvements are not distributed equally across all areas of our population. Individuals living in the most deprived areas of the region are at higher risk of many health conditions and have shorter life expectancies than those in the least deprived areas. These inequalities in health are unfair, and are avoidable.
